Careers at Total Care
Caring quality you can see
At the heart of Total Care's service philosophy is a belief that everyone should have the opportunity to live independently in their own home, with dignity, freedom of choice and control over their life; regardless of their level of need.
We make this vision a reality by employing the best people and by adopting a team approach to the provision of our services. Our clients and care team members are always at the forefront of all we do, we understand that in order to continually evolve and improve what we do, our care team members need to feel appreciated, valued, and well trained! We are a caring employer and committed to developing, nurturing and rewarding our team.
“We receive fantastic recognition & feedback from our clients for the hard work and dedication of both our office based staff and care team members. This just reinforces what a wonderful, unique and special company and team we have here at Total Care”. (Debbie & Juan Clark)
Total Care continues to lead the way in setting quality standards in all areas of the work we do. By recruiting the right team, ensuring they receive the best training and supporting them with ongoing continuing education, we ensure that those we support receive the highest quality of care possible.
Our team recognition forms part of the company’s wider commitment to providing ongoing investment in training and development for team members. We believe this sets us apart as an employer, by providing real career development opportunities especially for care team members who wish to build on the experience they gain with the organisation, to go on to forge a career in nursing, social work or rehabilitative therapy.
We know that to remain a top employer, we need to keep pace with changes and to respond to the needs of our employees in ways that go beyond traditional approaches. We want to encourage and enable team members to develop through more senior roles but also to offer a platform for those wishing to build on the extraordinary work they do here at Total Care. Providing a clear structure for learning continually maintains high quality care and best practices, as well as fulfilment and opportunity for our teams.

Total Care Training and the Care Certificate
At Total Care, all new carers and support workers are provided with a comprehensive accredited Induction program. This program is based on the new Care Certificate and lasts 12 weeks, consisting of induction, workbook assignments, work based assessments and one-to-one mentoring.
The Care Certificate was developed as a result of Cavendish review which took place in July 2013. The aim of this new program is to ensure that all new teams can demonstrate the right skills, knowledge and behaviours to provide high quality and compassionate care.
In 2015, we received Certificate of Achievement in recognition to commitment to learning.
After completing this 12 week program, new team members then have the opportunity to enrol on other accredited training courses, as well as undertaking QCF diplomas in Health & Social Care. At Total Care, we aim to help new team members reach their full potential.
